News - Warzone 2 Is Unplayable Right Now. Warzone 2 Rant

It's cozy here again with another Modern Warfare 2 season one slash Warzone 2 related article today. I'm a little bit concerned, but I'm also having fun. I'm playing Warzone 2, but I'm just a little bit concerned about a few aspects that are on the table, and I'm really getting worried that, like, the sum of all the issues within Modern Warfare 2 and War Zone 2 are going to become a problem because it seems like they already kind of are before we get into the discussion.

Definitely be sure to drop a like. And subscribe if you guys are new to joining the Cozy crew. More articles are coming out each and every day about Modern Warfare 2 and War Zone 2.

Partying up

But alright, so Warzone 2 did drop today alongside season one of Modern Warfare 2, and the two games going hand in hand have created an absolute paralysis of content that I honestly am having trouble getting through all of, but I would say one thing is definitely standing out to me as worrying.

The first issue is that while I'm having fun grinding a lot of war zones here and having a good time most of the time, some glaring issues are coming to the table that really have me worried. the first issue being that it's the first day that Warzone 2 is out and we cannot party up with our friends, at least in the traditional sense.

You guys may have run to the issue where you're going to invite your friend or join your front session. You open your social tab, and bam, it explodes and takes you back to the main menu. You can't do that. Sorry, I don't have friends, I guess, and yeah, it's a big issue. I ran into an issue with one of my friends.

We were super excited to get on and play some War Zone; a good time to maybe try out DMZ, even though it seems like DMZ is a little bit pointless in my opinion. I go to invite him into the game, and for some reason, lo and behold, the whole app just kind of crashes and doesn't let me invite him. So right now, the only way that you could join or invite your friends is actually by starting an in-game audio channel and joining them through that, so this just kind of piggybacks. Off of the UI issues that Modern Warfare 2 brings to the table, but now it's getting one step deeper where it's actually disabling an entire part of the game, the partying up system is now, it's almost like you have to do a workaround to get it to happen, so if you think that you're going to hop on and be a casual player and play with your friend after a long day of class or, a long day of work, sorry, man, most people are not going to take the effort to figure that out, and I I don't really blame them, because this is absolutely unacceptable.

My thoughts

My thoughts

For a Day One release like this. I cannot believe it's releasing in this state; it makes me wonder, like, did anybody even test it; was there any quality assurance going on because I feel like there was no QA testing that went into this, or at least not enough given the fact that people cannot party up with each other.

To me, I don't know, man. I don't know what to say. I honestly had higher hopes for Infinity Ward, and you know what? Maybe this is just a crazy issue. Maybe it's a one-time fluke, but if you look at the launch of Modern Warfare 2, a lot of these issues are mimicking each other. I mean, the first night we played Modern Warfare 2, it was impossible to get into parties with your friends.

The friends list barely worked, and half the people appeared offline. It just seems like the same exact issues are resurfacing, and it has me worried about the future of this game, the launch of this game, and, like I guess the vision is for, the partying system and the UI system. I could name a million issues that are coming to the table.

Just get worried about things like "green lighting." Is this it because of the crunch? Are the developers just stressed out? I want to know what's going on and why it seems like we cannot get a smooth launch for the life of us now. I just want to preface this with no hate towards the devs, no hit towards Activision, no hate towards anybody involved in this, but I'm just having a more passionate conversation because I feel like a passionate conversation, because I feel like this was supposed to be the hard launch of not only War Zone 2 and DMZ but also Modern Warfare 2.

The maps were supposed to come in, the guns were supposed to come in, and a lot of the features were supposed to be tweaked so that it was sort of like a smoother launch of the game, and I feel like we're sitting here with the release of more Zone 2, which is really, really fun. I had a great time.

I think Al Mazura is a phenomenal map. I feel like the game feels really good, or you run into issues with the connections; let's bring up another issue with the connections. Half the matches I play feel like I'm running in slow motion because the ping is so high and the servers can't seem to keep up.

So half the match is starting, it's super laggy, you have to back out, you go back to the main menu, which doesn't even work, and the UI is phenomenally bad. So it takes you forever to get into a game with your friend. You have to go through the voice channels and try to find a game, and then you get a ping glitch, like there are network issues.

When you're not able to find a match and it just gets you stuck on connecting, you have to restart the app a million times, and it's just like, "Damn." You can see how these issues stacking on top of each other are just really, really hurting the user experience, and it's one thing if I'm having a hard time and my friends are having a hard time, like we have invested interest in playing Cod I literally run a YouTube channel about Call of Duty and make a part-time living doing so.

Think of the casual player—that is absolutely bolstering up the original War Zone in Modern Warfare 2019 and making it the absolute juggernaut that it was when revitalized. Call of Duty You think that person is going to take the time to understand, like, No, we're getting the connecting glitch, we have to restart the app, or, No, they're going to be sitting there playing Lobby Simulator with the one or two hours they have for a night to play, and they're not really going to play much War Zone 2; they're going to kind of give up on it; they're going to go back to Warzone 1 once those servers are up and running, and.

I feel like maybe they jump ship to another game, maybe they go back to Modern Warfare 2—which, admittedly, while I love 6 vs. 6 and will always be a multiplayer person at heart, it can get a little bit old over time. This isn't acceptable whatsoever. I really have fun when the game is good; it is amazing, and when it's bad, it's just honestly really disappointing, but that's similar to Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer.

So definitely be sure to drop a like and subscribe, but I will go back to play some War Zone 2, and maybe I'll change my opinion. Stay cozy and peace
