News - Warzone 2: The New Meta Update. Best Weapons After Update
I mean, it's so close to bumping this up to absolute meta and being that top choice SMG, but also, it's just so competitive between the Voz Nev and the Lochman and the Vel and the P90, and even having things like the Chimera and the 74u, which are slower but much heavier hitting; should this be an absolute meta?
Should it stay in the top tier? Speaking of the MP5, this actually catches some strange updates. It got a movement speed buff from the ad speed nerf, so it's going to be a bit slower than before. You can build it out though to still be very fast, and it actually got a recoil buff, so it'll be a little bit easier to use still, staying in top tier, just not going to be as speedy as it was before.
They nerfed the lower torso, damage, the 12 gauge ammo, and the dragon's breath, and it's still very good; it's just not absolute meta anymore; it's dominant, for sure, but nowhere near as broken. You're still going to be annoyed by this though because players are still going to be spamming it, and I don't see it dropping out of competitive play until it gets at least one more nerf.
And then curiously enough, the Bryson 890 and the Bryson 800 each got the same updates that basically buffed the slug headshot damage, so if you're super accurate with both of these shotguns, they have the potential to be very, very strong. They're not the most forgiving shotguns in the game, so I'm going to keep them at 485 for the time being.
Additional meta updates for recent warzone 2 changes
Now, those were all these specific weapon updates from The Season's Reloaded patch. I still want to go through and adjust this ever so slightly. I do just want to bring the 762 into the top tier.
I just don't feel like this in comparison to the Hemlock and Attack 56 is a meta rifle just because it's damaged and its control is a little bit off now since they have started to nerf it, whereas the TAC 56 and the Hemlock, especially, are the clear number one rifle and probably the nuclear number one gun in the game right now.
so easy to use and do really good damage over range, whereas cast-off 762 does good damage over range now and it's so easy to use, then tacking 56 is super easy to use and do decently. Damage over range just sort of balances out a little bit more, so for mid-to-long range attacks, the 56 and ISO Hemlock are my go-tos right now, and then for close range.
I just feel like the Chimera and the 74U have to be considered absolute meta because you can build them to be similar in speed to the top-tier subs, but they just kill quicker because they are rifles, so for close-to-mid range sniper support, there's the 74U. There's nothing that's going to come close to these in terms of automatic weapons that obviously aren't the KV broadside side because that's still going to be really, really good in those first 10 or 15 meters or whatever, but we've narrowed down the meta a lot here, which I think is productive, and we're leaning a lot more towards this meta that has largely top-tier and competitive choices, which is the best place for the meta to be overall.
So that's how the meta currently shakes out after Season 2 reloaded. As we see more changes and more weapon updates come into play, we are going to continue to update this list over time, so stay tuned for that and make sure you are subscribed with those notes turned on. That's going to wrap things up.
And until next time, take it easy. Have an awesome rest to your day, and I'll catch you guys later, peace.
