The final warzone update is missing a meta change

ladies and gentlemen. We got what is arguably one of the coolest events in war zone history this year's haunting extremely fun in terms of the unique aspects of gameplay it brings with the monsters and all sorts of stuff like that, but beyond the haunting events, as we've discussed previously. This update was very strange in a lot of ways, and one of them is a pretty major way to update the weapon meta for both multiplayer and War Zone.

We also got a major title update. What is apparently the midseason update and reloaded update in a sense for season 6, and for the first time in as long as I can remember, the mid-season update did not include any new weapon in terms of a ranged weapon outside of just basic melees, which usually happen as well, which we also didn't technically see, or any actual meta changes.

However, Call of Duty has confirmed that we do have one final meta update or a new meta update on its way. At some point, they didn't give exact specifics, but this does indicate that we're going to see a few other additional changes here to War Zone and to MW2. To round out the year, and today we're breaking down basically what to expect with this at least face value initially with.

One final meta update is coming to warzone

It does seriously help grow the channel, and if you are new here, you want to guarantee you are up-to-date on all things going on in COD. I got you covered on a daily basis with news updates, match notes, and meta breakdowns.

It's all here, obviously. It's been a very busy few days, weeks, and months coming up here with MW3 and War Zone updates, so you're not going to want to miss a thing. Now this, I won't lie, is a bit of a surprise because we are technically in the window. Time for MW2. Obviously, we've got all the updates that happened this past week.

Next week, we have a full week of the haunting extended with the new rewards dropping, but then the week of October 30th, by the end of that week, we're going to have campaign Early Access for MW3. And all focus is going to be on MW3, so we essentially have, you know, a week and a half roughly left of the MW2.

Era, and so with that, to have more in-season updates coming. I feel like it's going to be pretty late into the game now. Of course, not everyone's going to have MW3 Early Access for the campaign or be playing that for the full week. Some players won't be buying MW3 at launch, or maybe they're just going to exclusively stick to War Zone, so that doesn't affect them as much, but from a Call of Duty standpoint, from their side of this and their POV, all their eyes, all their focus, all their attention is going to be on MW3.

So we don't really have all that much time left for any more updates. Really, season 6 reloaded in the haunting update was the prime time for any last-minute adjustments, meta changes, or anything like that, so to have some stuff upcoming here. I won't lie, this is pretty surprising now. What should we expect with this initially? Well, I think.

What will change in the final meta update

What will change in the final meta update

The one major change that everyone is looking for and has been looking for several weeks is a Nerf to the Lockwood 300 trigger. This thing is crazy good. As we know up close, it's still dominating basically every single Resurgence Lobby because there's so much close-range gameplay involved on those maps that this shotgun obliterates because within 7 m it's going to one-shot kill, and 7 MERS on those maps is a constant, especially as you get late game and whatnot.

It's creating a very imbalanced meta for close range where before you could use this SMG that SMG A broadside if you wanted to, but now if you run into this Lockwood and the player has just a semi-decent aim, you're done, you're in the spectator screen, you're waiting to be resawn, and you're back in the pregame lobby, right?

meta update

The thing is obliterating the close-range meta right now and not really offering much diversity. They did Nerf the range on it a little bit ago, but that was like a 2 m Nerf; it still can one shot in 7 m. As mentioned, they're going to have to do something to the damage or add in some crazy major con for this that requires it to be much more precise, or the skill gap for it needs to rise in some way shape or form to balance this thing out, so that Lockwood Nerf is absolutely coming.

Obviously, the shotgun was part of the Doom bundle. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a part of the Ash Williams bundle, so I'm sure they want to get their sales in for those with these weapons so that they can capitalize on that, but then the Lockwood Nerf is 110% coming, so that's one we can fully expect for that.

I would imagine that it's not going to be the only weapon change that we see, though obviously, things like the ISO 45 really have not been adjusted in some time. The rifle meta right now is pretty mid-tier for the most part outside of the Guist, which is kind of a standout, so I'm hoping we see some other long-range Buffs with some of the rifles to compete more with, like the lmgs, the wp, the raal, and the sacken.

Those are kind of dominating long range as it stands right now, so we're going to have other various weapon updates there outside of the Lockwood Nerf; that's just by far the most obvious one. Also, for what it's worth, we have all these themed bundles coming up. I would not be surprised at all if these popular ones that are haunting-based and the weapons in them suddenly become very good or receive some slight buffs to put them a step ahead of some of the other weapons in their respective categories, because obviously a lot of the meta changes are incentivized.

Should we expect any new warzone weapons?

Should we expect any new warzone weapons?

By bundle sales, now going into the Haunting update, there was a lot of hope and a lot of speculation about one final ranged new weapon coming to the game since, obviously, back prior to season 6, we had several leaks saying the season 6 weapons were going to be the ISO 9mm, the Dual Commas, and then a remake of the Bruan MK9 from MW 2019.
