News - Confirmed Features That Were Missing The Warzone 2i Beta
Every time you get a kill, it tells you what kill streak you're on. This is something that was in Modern Warfare 2019 and in the beta build of Modern Warfare 2, but then, for whatever reason, it just disappeared for the full build of the game. I'm hoping we're going to see the opposite this time around, where we didn't have access to that in the beta of Modern Warfare 3, but I hope we have access to it with the full build of the game, and I do think that's a reasonable ask after that something we have no information on whatsoever, but I'd love to see return that we didn't see in Modern Warfare 2 but we did see in Modern Warfare 2019.
This is reticle customization. I'd love to be able to grind for different reticles, even if it's just changing the color of the reticle; that would be really nice to have, but also various shapes. I think that would be a great addition to the game; it just adds that little bit of extra detail and some personalization that you actually see throughout your game play.
After that, another piece of feedback that I think would be potentially a reasonable addition, maybe not for launch, but I think this could come at some point down the road, is showing how much damage you dealt to an enemy when you got killed. When you're watching the kill cam In the beta build of the game, you could see who shot you with which gun and how much damage they dealt.
But you didn't get to see how much damage you dealt to them, and I think that would be very valuable information to show on the kill cams. You can see, like, just how much damage you dealt and how close you were to actually finishing off that kill. Then, something I haven't brought up yet on this channel, but I have noticed a lot of people talking about it, is what happened to the gameplay of the game.
It seemed like throughout the beta, we only had the final kill show. Once the game was over, rather than the play of the game, and for me at least. I think final kills make the most sense for round-based modes like Search and Destroy, for instance, as well as free-for-all. However, for basically all of the other game modes, I think playing the game is the superior option, at least when it's working properly.
You're generally going to see a better play with the game than you would with a final kill. Normally, with a final kill cam, all it's going to show is a pretty basic normal kill, nothing too special, whereas with play of the game, you're typically at least going to be seeing something like a triple or a quad kill, for instance.
This one's super minor, but something that definitely came up throughout the beta, and to my knowledge again. I think the functionality is all there for play of the game; they literally would just need to turn it on and maybe make a few tweaks here or there to it, and then finally, one last thing that I have brought up in the past, but I'm just going to tag it on right at the end of this article here.
This is the specialist strike package that allows you to earn perks instead of kill streaks as you go on a streak. Now I've seen some pushback against this saying that specialists couldn't work in this game because our perks are now boots, gloves, and gear, for instance, but I disagree that those are basically just names for the different tiers and they don't affect the cosmetics of your character.
So it's not like you're actually putting on multiple pairs of gloves on top of each other if you're earning them with the specialist bonus in the same life; they literally just renamed the tiers instead of Tier 1. Tier 2, and Tier 3. Now it's gloves, boots, and gear, so I don't think that should hold back specialists at all, and I really hope that it doesn't.
It'd be a real big shame if we don't get specialists for that simple reason, that our perk tiers are now called boots and gloves instead of just Tier 1 and Tier 2, but I guess time will tell on that one, unfortunately. I really don't expect we'll be seeing specialists; it would be a huge surprise if we did at launch, but it's still something I want to push for, even if this is something they don't have planned at the moment.
Maybe down the road. I think that could really liven up the game, and I just missed the ability to sacrifice my kill streaks in order to earn more perks.
Wrap up
And with that, that's pretty much it. That's going to wrap it up for today's article on several of the features that we can definitely expect to see at launch that we didn't have access to in the beta, as well as just a handful that I'm hoping we could see with the full build of the game.
