It was incredibly surprising that in the patch itself, we didn't see any direct weapon changes or the addition of a new weapon for the first time in midseason update history. Although you may recall that last week just prior to the MW3, beta we did see a slight update go live that included a decent amount of weapon changes, so with that today while we are still waiting on more weapon changes to come as Call of Duty has revealed, in season now in a couple of weeks time we're still going to see some more weapon changes before the launch of MW3.
I figured, why not take the chance to break down the current top 10 best weapons in the game? Then, once we see some full-on weapon tuning and whatnot, potentially next week or the week after, we'll break down the general top 10 loadouts. As much as I don't like this gun, it is broken and obnoxious; it's not been nerfed enough yet; and it can still take one shot within 7 meters. This is absolutely crazy with this dual trigger on there; it is just unstoppable. In the close range meta, of course, you have to have good accuracy, but with how an assist is in this game, that's pretty straightforward.
This thing is just nuts. I imagine that after some bundle sales have calmed down, they'll nerf this thing a little bit more. Really, the trigger is the problem here because it is just so good at making this weapon so incredibly strong, but obviously we've got that on there. I've got the high stock mod for better mobility all around the 7-meter laser, snap your ads, and sprint a fire clutch here for using this thing up close to the 812 barrel for better range.
extending that to that 7-meter range for that one-shot knock is obviously huge, and then the series 9 choke here for the tighter pet spread and the slightly better damage range on there as well, so definitely Niche for just that super close range, but this thing is so busted.

Still, in those patch notes from a week ago or so, they actually ended up nerfing the MP5 a little bit but didn't touch the ISO 45, so this thing easily clears in the top 10 right now. It's been a problem for many seasons, as we know pretty much since its introduction. The ISO 45 has been a menace up close; right now, it's still one of my top preferred choices.
You got to get past that iron sight—you know, visibility in my opinion—or throw on an optic, but if you can get past the shake and whatnot, the thing is an absolute beast. It's ttk is just broken everywhere; up close, it's right there with the best of the best, and then over the midrange, it also just beats every other SMG too.
So this thing's kind of the do-it-all sub. We got the 45-round drum on there, the sheer rear grip as always, and cheetah stock, which I love for the better Sprint speed strafe speed ads speed, doing all sorts of mobility boosts for us. There's a 7-meter laser here as well, so I go for the K85. As mentioned, with that crazy shake that this gun does have, especially the further out you get, it's more noticeable. Having that on there will help minimize that with the control and make it a little bit easier to use overall, so that's definitely still pretty clutch when it comes down to it, but no denying that the ISO 45 is still a phenomenal choice for close range.

Honestly, I've been enjoying the ISO 9 mm a little bit more recently, maybe just because it's a little more new.
I mean, the guns still feel ridiculously similar, and this and the ISO 45 are like one-to-one in a bunch of ways, but this does have a bit more of a fresh feel to it, and the fire rate's a ton of fun. This thing up close is also just a demon. It's got crazy mobility and really good close range. As well, there is a very similar setup here in a lot of ways.
Here we just have the 50-round drum; instead, I got the sheer rear grip for better ads and Sprint of Fire as well. The RS-2 stock is basically the equivalent of the Cheetah; it's Sprint speed strafe speed and speed as well. 7 m laser, yet again, the spiral flash hider is also just straight up for better control.
I don't think the recoil on this is as obnoxious as on the ISO 45, but it's still noticeable, so that does help out there for sure; it just makes it a little bit more reliable and consistent.

And yes, despite the fact that the MP5 was nerfed a little bit, it's still very good up close and still easily a top-tier competitive choice, right there next to the ISO 45, the 9 mil, and our other close-range options, so this is still a great choice to be running as that nice secondary for a rifle, a sniper, and whatever the case may be in setup here really is not changing all that much.
We got the 40-round mag on here; if you want to jump up to 50, you could do so. I like 40 just because the slightly faster reload is my main go-to reason for the dcg1 rear grip for better control, but I go ahead and tune for that inverse of better mobility. We got the mobile stock on here again. Sprint speed Strife speed and a 7-meter laser, and in this case, I go for the Falcon Barrel. The Recoil here is obviously super easy so we can get even better movement out of using you know this Falcon option here for the general movement speed and ads speed so the mobility gets cranked up even more obviously very Snappy very fast very aggressive and I love that in all my close-range options, now sticking on theme with the SMGs, these are dominating close range obviously outside of the Lockwood 300 in the bass p.

This thing's raised in rank so much recently. Keep in mind we're not in any particular order here with the top 10 today, but the bass p has really just been bumping up a ton. In the SMG category, in the close range meta, it's ttk is now super competitive, and what this has over all the other subs is its range; its initial damage range is so much better in the mid-range; its ttk is so much better, so this thing's a lot more versatile than really every other sub while also still being very easy to use, so this setup is nice.
