News - Marksman Rifles Ranked Worst To Best. Warzone 2
The runner-up best at the number two spot is the Sabres, 50. The Sab is similar to the SPR-208 but statistically better in a few key ways. The Sab is a bolt-action rifle with the same one-shot profile if you land with the chest up and the upper arms. The only downside when you compare this directly to the SPR is that the SAB's one shot drops off to a two-shot kill at 44 meters, whereas the SPR drops off at 56 meters, so you get a 12-meter difference.
There If you don't use marksman rifles within traditional Cod ranges and are using them to hold long lines of sight, that's the only scenario I see the SPRA outperforming the Sab, but again, at that point, you may as well be using an actual sniper rifle; other than that, the Sab is superior at quick scoping in close to mid-range engagements because it has a faster aim-down sight speed of 310 milliseconds.
Its sprint to fire time is slower than average when you're comparing it to all the Martian rifles, but it's faster than the SPAR and the traditional snipers, which is nice, plus it has a fast mag option for an even faster reload and you're getting the 10 rounds in the mag rather than the five, and it has a faster fire rate, so its two-shot kill is faster than the SPAR's.
Again, the Sab is just a better version of the SP; it's all around much faster with nearly identical damage. If you like the SP, you're putting yourself at a disadvantage if you're using that instead of the Sab just to make things clear I love this weapon. The SPR is reliable and fun to use, but it's not quite as fun and versatile as the Marksman rifle at the number one spot.
In my opinion, the best Martian rifle in Modern Warfare 2 right now is the Lockwood Mark II. This weapon is surprisingly good at a lot of things. Quick scorers will love how fast and forgiving it is for non-quicks. Scopers who are just using Martian rifles as a DMR will find the Lockwood to be good at that too, so let's talk damage for handling.
The Lockwood will one-shot the head and neck at any range, which is sweet. It will also one-shot the chest and go up to 24 meters, which is the perfect range for aggro quick-scouters. If you're not hitting the chest enough, it's going to be a two-shot kill, and, surprisingly, beyond 24 meters, it's going to be a two-shot kill no matter where you land your shot on the body, unless of course you're hitting that one-shot head or next shot.
The Lockwood's fire rate is somewhere in the middle between these semi-autos and the bolt actions. It has a significantly better two-shot time to kill than the SPr and the Sab, but it's not going to be outgunning these semi-autos at close ranges, assuming you're landing your shots. But at long ranges, that two-shot kill is decently competitive, especially against the attacker M.
So all in all, its damage is pretty good, but Lockwood's handling is what makes it stand out. It's tied for the fastest aim down sight in the class as well as the fastest sprint to fire by a large margin, and it has the fastest reload speed plus it reloads bullet by bullet; it takes about half a second to reload each bullet, which allows you to have your gun up more often.
You can reload a couple times and then take a couple shots to stay in engagements longer or to engage at critical times when someone's pushing you. Lockwood also has great attachment combos that allow for insane Fast handling and speeds make this a quick scoper's dream weapon, one you can get cracked out in close quarters.
Combat on maps like shipment, when you take a step back, you put some distance in your engagement; it exceeds in all the other combat scenarios too; it does ask for a bit more accuracy compared to the Sab. It is way more accessible with that larger one-shot kill area, and if you have the skill to use it, you're going to be outgunning a lot of weapons in this game.
Hey, maybe you disagree with me on the Lockwood, or perhaps my entire list. As always, you're encouraged to add your own words to the "best list" or any of your thoughts to my list.
