War Zone is in such a good place right now, and that's partly down to the triumphant return of the Beloved Rebirth Island, but there's still one thing holding back the War Zone and Modern Warfare 3 experience for a lot of people, and that's skill-based matchmaking. Spmm actually feels even more cranked on Rebirth Island, which is probably because of two reasons: one, it has brought quite a few players back to the game, so there are just more people available to match against so the system can fine-tune our opponents.

And two, the map has fewer players on it compared to other maps, so again, the matchmaking system can perfectly match us against opponents, simply because the number of players searching at any one time is massive compared to the number of people required to fill a game. I must say, I'm not totally against skill-based matchmaking.

I'm not one of those players who just wants to play people with no thumbs all day; it totally has a place to protect the newer or disadvantaged players, and I do think most agree that the level of strictness of SPMM right now makes every game kind of ridiculous. And it's even weirder to have it so strict in my opinion when we have a rank play mode, so today I'm covering how to reduce the strength of skill-based matchmaking to get easier lobbies and just have a nicer time on War Zone in general, and we're going to do it by manipulating.

The matchmaking, process that I just outlined so like I say the reason spmm can be so strict is because there are so many players searching for games at the same time compared to the amount of lobbies there actually are so the matchmaking can perfectly choose an opponent that is around your level in terms of score per minute or rank or whatever but when there aren't as many players available searching for a game the matchmaking, system has no choice but to start widening the scope of the search to ensure that the game gets going in a reasonable amount of time so by widening the scope of the search it increases the skill variability in the game if we can get the matchmaking to widen the search enough we essentially remove, skill-based, matchmaking.

And that's how V-Hands are supposed to work. The theory is that you trick Call of Duty into thinking you're in an area of the world that doesn't have many players, so you can just match up against anyone who's searching at that time rather than a select portion perfectly chosen for you. Now, obviously, as the title suggested.

I'm not going to use the VPN or suggest using a VPN in this article because, honestly, there are different ways that we can get matchmaking to have fewer players at the same time. I mean, even just searching for games during off-peak hours, so really late at night or early in the day can have that same impact, but the main way I'm going to suggest to you is to get easy lobbies and essentially remove spmm.

Now, games may take slightly longer to start up, but once they do, you can be sure that skill-based matchmaking isn't cranked to the absolute maximum because it physically can't. Due to the lack of players, the odds of thousands of players at your exact skill level searching for a game at the same time become very unlikely.

On top of that, by turning crossplay off, it levels up the playing field so everyone you play has roughly the same setup as you; no one is on a supercomputer. With 300 frames per second and hacks, we want to manipulate this by turning crossplay off, which reduces the number of players to play against, and we can play during off-peak hours, and spmm at this point is all but removed.

The downside to that, of course, is that we can't play with our friends on other platforms, but that's kind of the price we have to pay for such an easy way to have a better time in War Zone. I guess also something you should note is that using the method shared here will get you easier games, but really only if you're an average or above-average player, as skill-based matchmaking gives these players harder games than the average Lobby.

If you're a below-average player, there's a chance that matches will get harder because spmm actually helps out lower-skilled players now to actually turn off crossplay. It's a very simple PlayStation You just go to settings, go down to accounted network, and then the top option is crossplay. And you can just switch this off if you're on Xbox.

You can't turn crossplay off in the Call of Duty settings. We have to go to the Xbox settings. Here, we go to General, then to Online Safety, Family Privacy, and Online Safety. Xbox privacy view details and customize communication and multiplayer, then go to the option for joining crossplay networks and then just change this to block.

When you head back onto Call of Duty, you may get a message pop up. You can either follow the details it gives you or simply keep canceling the message and search for a game.
