News - Warzone: New Free Content Update, Big Audio Changes, More. Warzone 2 Update
Raven posted this just yesterday, saying that with the launch of War Zone season 1, we've seen a great deal of feedback surrounding audio, more specifically footsteps. We are currently investigating this feedback, and we'll share more at a later date, so it's nice to hear that they are going through it and actually addressing it.
Unfortunately, we don't have any updates live as of now, but without a doubt, the footstep audio and just general audio in the war zone right now are: Bad, it's very inaccurate; it's not consistent whatsoever. It seems like players are constantly in a dead silent state, even though they're not. You just can't hear enemies running up on you or navigating the map around you, which is really unfortunate, because footstep audio in a battle royale is so important and so clutch, and we went from having decent audio in multiplayer and zombies before the war zone update happened to having really bad audio now, so something must have changed with the update that was unintended, or they, you know, pushed a slider too much in one direction to quiet things down, but it's nice that they are being transparent and communicating about this already.
With that being said, that is going to wrap things up once more. Peace.
