News - Warzone 2 Sbmm Is Now Affecting Everyone
It just takes the whole progression of a title away from you; it's just doing the same thing that matchmaking has been doing to 6v6 titles for ages, making the experiences feel organic, you know. It just takes away from all the satisfaction. Whether you want to go ahead and have a, you know, actual difficulty setting where you're going to play on recruit medium difficult whatever you want, if you're going to have a game slowly progressing from easy to hard over time, or even if you have soul-like games where you know it's just straight hard right out of the gates and there are no other options.
The backstory, understanding things, maybe trying to find Easter eggs, and, you know, collectibles. All that stuff once again becomes irrelevant because of the system. You know, people can't just go on easy mode and enjoy the story because if they're going to try to enjoy the story and they're, you know, playing too well, they can't kick back anymore.
They're going to have to use much tougher AI, which is going to slow down their progress, and, you know, they can't focus on the story anymore because they're too busy trying to compete in it. Gaming is casual; these matchmaking systems should not be used in single-player experiences. And with this Call of Duty trend.
I swear Call of Duty has been trending with this matchmaking for ages, and I'm really hoping it doesn't leak out into these single-player games or other multiplayer games as well, because other multiplayer games have been doing pretty well. I got to be honest, some have been pretty strict, but you know, the mass majority of other games out there are not bad, not shabby, but man again, if.
We have no clue what the future holds; we really don't know 20, 30, or 40 years down the road; we have no clue what's coming; we don't even know if anything is going to be out there anymore; you know, the whole world might just go poof. We don't know what's going to happen, but I would not push it past any of these development teams.
