News - Modern Warfare 2: Next Update Is Removing Content, New Broken Attachments, More. Warzone 2
We are obviously going to have plenty of new updates coming up here in the new year.
First modern warfare 2 update after holiday break will remove content
We've known for a bit that they should be back in full force after the New Year, and we know for sure that our first official update coming to MW2, in War Zone 2, for the new year is happening on January 4th, but the full extent of this update and the full details on said update are not entirely known.
4th now you might be wondering you know are they going to leave it in the game as like sort of a new rotational map where we're going to have daytime shipment nighttime shipment something like that unfortunately the devs actually have confirmed, that they are going to completely remove the. Christmas version of shipment from the game and just have the one standard version that we saw debut a little bit earlier on this season because they don't want to keep up space on the game for players and they don't want to have that extra data on hard drives taking up even more unnecessary space, basically, so it'll be out of private matches and it'll be out of the public match rotation.
January 4th is going to completely remove move shitness from the game now; outside of that, are we going to see some other changes on January 4th? It is certainly possible they might add in some, you know, mini-patch notes. Maybe fix a few things that were worked on prior to the holidays but were, I know, just not finished in time to go live before they went out for the holiday break.
New melee weapon update changed in mw2 & warzone 2
You may recall that a little while ago we had some various leaks and rumors surface regarding some future content and future weapons for MW2, and War Zone 2 and DMZ are just likely future seasonal content, right? A lot of them ended up being various melee weapons; some of them might have been left over, like things for instance like the ballistic knife, which is probably not going to happen in MW2; that's more of a Treyarch style weapon; we also had some other basic melee weapons though, like for instance a sword, which would make a lot of sense considering we have Ronin leaked as an operator for season two and that leaked screenshot art actually showcases him holding a sword; we also had leaks; we also had rumors about the Cali sticks returning You know, a future seasonal update will introduce a brand new melee weapon, and curiously enough, we actually saw the Cali sticks featured in the initial trailer for The Adam Grad Raid in season one.
More recently, it's come out that apparently the Cali sticks are not going to be coming, at least as of right now, as a full-on melee weapon but instead just as an operator execution. As a part of a future store bundle, if you're someone who really enjoys using melee weapons, that's probably not the greatest of news.
If you're someone who can't stand being too hit by melee weapons that are ridiculously fast and feel like they lunge across the room, maybe that's better news for you, but as of right now, the Cali sticks do not seem to be a full-on melee weapon that'll drop soon. You know, that could change further down the road, maybe in seasons three, four, or five once we get later on into the year and they decide, you know, let's bring out the Cali sticks as a full-on weapon and make them available outside of just that specific operator's execution.
We'll have to wait again and see for that, but just a heads up, that does not appear to be a melee weapon any longer but rather just transferred to an execution bonus.
New broken attachments in modern warfare 2 & warzone 2.0
After moving on here several times in the past, more recently especially, we've talked about various broken attachments in Modern Warfare 2 and War Zone 2. They're broken in the sense that you just can't access them. This has been the case for several different things so far since launch. Single gun in the game every primary and secondary I have max level, but, most recently, we've got two new muzzles that have appeared as glitched and locked despite all guns being available at max level.
So one of them is just a basic compensator, another one is going to help out with your vertical and horizontal control, and until we have the full data mining stats from SIM on all the recoil plots and whatnot, this is just another compensator that you could throw into the mix. It's not anything crazy; it's basically going to do the same as the others, so one in and of itself is not too big of a deal.
The other is a suppressor, and this one is a very big deal because it actually functions, just like the Castovia dx90 suppressor, but obviously if you watch my loadout articles, we are always using it when available because it is, you know, basically the best suppressor because it's going to end up keeping you off the compass and keeping you off the radar right there, but also because it's going to end up helping out with your recoil control.
which is something that no other suppressors or silencers do, on top of also adding in better velocity and whatnot, so it's going to be a great suppressor for mid-long range options, but the Custovia is only available on certain guns. The alternative would be this locked suppressor on guns like, for instance, the M4, which doesn't have the Castovia options, so you don't have a suppressor that is the equivalent to that.
Modern warfare 2 broken shadowban system
Once the devs are all back from break, then the final thing I wanted to bring up here today because I've been seeing a lot of questions and a lot of concern about it is the shadow band system here, in MW2, in war zone 2. He hardly ever gets on, and it seems like there are a ton of players currently being shadow banned for what they assume is no reason.
Unfortunately, the news and what I have to say here aren't that helpful, more so just informative, as when it comes to the shadow band system or the band system. Call of Duty doesn't really communicate about this stuff. I don't know why that is, but they're pretty much radio silent on that stuff.
