News - Is The Sidewinder Underrated Or Just Bad Warzone 2. Best Sidewinder Attachment Setups
Handling & reload add time
In either case, let's get into our handling stats. Our down sight speed is about average for battle rifles in this game at 265 milliseconds, and our sprint of fire time is identical to the other Modern Warfare 3 battle rifles at 231 milliseconds. And then finally, our reload ad's a little bit better than average for battle rifles, and honestly, not that bad at all at 1.59.
Seconds.
Mobility
And that just leaves us with our final base stats to cover here, which are mobility stats, and across the board, the sidewinder is basically just average for a battle rifle; there's nothing that really stands out here, and with that, we can finally move into some excellent attachment combinations that make the sidewinder at least somewhat usable.
Sidewinder - accuracy build
The first one I've got for you guys is my accuracy build, so with this, we're using the Ty LRB muzzle to help a lot with horizontal recoil. We've got the Tempest Predator Barrel, the Mark 3 reflector optic, the RB Regal heavy stock, and finally the RB Borealis grip, so almost all of these are stacked heavy for recoil control.
And as we can see here, we have a significantly more accurate gun than the base, especially when it comes to horizontal recoil; there's very little horizontal deviation. Now, although you will still get some random jumps here or there, this is much easier to manage than the base recoil of the gun.
Just keep in mind that even though the recoil plots look good, you will still run into that weird behavior where you try to compensate for recoil and it just ends up overcompensating a lot. This just cuts down on that a little bit, but with this, we also have a reasonable enough aim-down sight speed for an accuracy build of 294 milliseconds.
Our sprint-out times are a bit slower at 270 milliseconds. However, our range and bullet velocity values have both improved by a noticeable margin, and honestly, this is one of the better ways to run the Sidewinder because it largely takes care of the biggest issue that it has, which is, of course, recoil.
And I should point out that with this build, you can use it in semi-auto or full auto just based on your preference if you want to try to land that single body shot combined with a headshot.
Sidewinder - stealth build
And with this, our aim-down sight speed is actually improved; it's 254 milliseconds, which is excellent. Our sprint-out time is very slightly worse than the base, but it's better than the previous build at 236 milliseconds. We unfortunately lose 15% of our damage range, but that's generally fine since this gun is a three-shot kill at any range to the body, and then, of course, with that integrated suppressed barrel, we will be staying off the radar so you can flank enemies a bit more effectively , and that just leaves us with one final build.
Sidewinder - tac stance build
I wanted to share for you guys today and this is a t stance build and the thing about t stance is this gun is going to be pretty inaccurate no matter what so the logic here is if you're going to be inaccurate anyway why not just use aack stance build which is going to be roughly as inaccurate as aiming down sight while maintaining a lot of handling and Mobility benefits here so with this one for our muzzle we're using the s37.
SE DL breacher, the orchestra 40 short barrel the Bruin Bastion angled grip the stoval Dr laser box and then finally the RB Rapid Strike grip to help a little bit with our Sprint out time and with this our aim down sight speed is a bit slow but that's okay cuz we're using an attack stance our Sprint out time is very nicely improved it's now 170, milliseconds.
And both our hip fire and our tactical stance spreads are very noticeably improved with this build, and with this one, it's actually a pretty decent way to run the Sidewinder for like really close quarters. Maps, if you're just playing like shipment inter meat, for instance, try throwing this together, popping it in the stance, and just seeing how it feels. Obviously, you are going to be limiting yourself at longer ranges, but I mean, this gun doesn't really excel at longer ranges anyway due to the recoil, so you may find some success with this stance setup , and with that, that's going to wrap up today's gun guide on The Sidewinder.
Final thoughts & wrap up
As for my thoughts on this gun, it's horrible; it's one of the worst guns in the entire game.
I'm sure many of you guys already know that if you've tried using the Sidewinder, and honestly, it's almost entirely due to that recoil, and not just the recoil being high, but it's more so your ability to properly account for that recoil and control that recoil without it overcompensating. With that weird center speed or whatever is going on there, honestly, if they fix that and the recoil just works a little bit more normally like other guns, you can control it a bit more effectively even if it's still reasonably high recoil, as long as you have the ability to properly control that recoil.
I think this gun would be okay. It wouldn't be the best gun in the game, but it would at least have a good place in the game, because, especially in semi-auto mode, it's really nice to be able to land that one shot to the Torso, one shot to the head, and get a very consistent two-shot kill. Also, if you guys have missed any of the previous gun guides, I've now covered all of the assault rifles, SMGs, LMGs, and battle rifles.
