For the final step, I'd strongly recommend having pack 2 or pack 3. Crystal will also be fighting off a mimic. Make your way over to the new dark Ether Portal, which is found next to the large radio tower in the northeastern corner of Tier 3. In this area, you'll find four pedestals. Each pedestal has a small drawing on it resembling one of the four items that we obtained.
Go ahead and use the items on the corresponding pedestals, and normally the Ether Portal should show up. Unfortunately for me during this run, it glitched out, so I wasn't able to proceed with the next step, and I had to get all the items again just to get them gold again. However, I did eventually make my way back, and this time the portal showed up.
Once the portal shows up, a named mimic will spawn, and you'll have to take him out. You shouldn't have too much of an issue doing so. Once the mimic dies, you'll receive a sigil, which will allow you to enter the dark ether, and from there you can obtain an elder sigil, which would allow you to enter the dark ether to unlock the new schematics.
