News - Cod Warzone 2 Zombies, How To Unlock The Dark Aether, Solo Guide
So you've completed the Act 4 mission, and I left with a locked diary item from beating the mission boss if you paid attention during the seals. In the breaking part of the mission, you also know that three more items have disappeared from the dark ether, so you need to find them and recover them to have a full set.
A word of caution before we begin: while it's totally possible to get all four items in one playthrough, it is somewhat dependent on your luck, and the last one is quite challenging, so I'd suggest you don't risk it. Leave the diary in the stash and get the items at your own pace. The diary is probably the most valuable one since killing the war takes the most time, so keep it safe until the moment you are ready.
Now on to the items: a reminder of what they were in the bad signal. Mission A peel bottle has spawned on a toxic pedestal; a surveillance camera is on the electric pedestal; and a dog collar is up on the fire pedestal. This information works as a hint in obtaining them on the main Earth extend map. Obtaining each item includes a mini-boss fight, so make sure to go with a decent gun or obtain one on the map before trying to get the items.
Pill bottle
We'll start with a PELL bottle. To find a pell bottle, you need a weapon with a brain rod ammo mod. You can bring one into the round from the beginning or find one on the map.
It doesn't matter once you have a gun with a brain rod; you need to find yourself an assistant. The easiest way to do this is, of course, an eagle nest in the low thread zone, but really any nest or infested stronghold would do. Shoot the assist, and you'll notice it turning green and becoming a toxic cist.
You want your weapon to not be too overpowered because, for example, an RGL with a brain rod will immediately destroy the SE, making it impossible to interact with it. If you're playing in a squad, warn your teammate about what you're doing, or they'll keep destroying the CS before you can use them.
Clear the immediate area of zombies and open the cist by holding the interact button on it. Once done, the SE pops and reveals a purple-colored peel bottle of purple color You may notice that this is different from the diary that has gold coloring instead, so now you need to upgrade the peel bottle to legendary status too.
To do that, you need to find ether. The ether is in the space that teleports you up into the sky. The guys at Hub G have a really nice map of all potential tear locations, so use it to find yourself one. As soon as you walk into the tear, open your parachute, and you should see another tear, a green-colored one now floating in the sky.
If you don't see it, look around; it will be somewhere. There, parachute yourself to it, and as you enter, you'll be teleported right away. At this moment, the peel bottle from your inventory drops, and a purple hunt contract phone appears, where it lands. This one will always be in the low-threat zone.
Pick up the contract, and it reveals a special mimic. Bounty has one hvt named mimic and two regular ones the dark has. Bottle, enemy can If you want to play it really safe, leave it with it and put it in the stash before proceeding further; otherwise, it would be a good idea to get yourself a tombstone perk first, as each subsequent item is harder to get than the previous tombstone. This will make sure that you at least keep what you already have if things go wrong.
Surveilance camera
really wrong Now onto the surveillance camera. For this, you need a dead wire ammo mode and a harvester orb again. If you don't know where to find an orb, use the map from Hub G as a reference. Use your electrified weapon to shoot the orb, and it will turn gold for you.
If you play in a squad, your teammates won't see the gold color, and if they shoot it with non-electric weapons, it will reset back to purple, so warn your team to stay back and cover you. Instead, keep shooting the O, but don't forget about the zombies. All this commotion attracts you; you really don't want to die here, so take your time.
The main thing is to make sure it doesn't escape into the void, so if you see a vortex forming over it, shoot. Apart from the usual goodies, it will drop a purple surveillance camera. Now you need to follow similar steps to get the camera to Gold. Find another tear, use it, and you'll see another one in the air, this time yellow to indicate the contract will land in the medium thread, Zone.
A quick hint here: you may want to concentrate all your efforts on a single disciple that has a contract icon over it. Killing him will complete the contract and kill the other disciples automatically. Once done, the reward RF contains the legendary surveillance camera, which you can extract and put in your stash if you want to play it safe, or at the very least get yourself a tombstone perk.
Dog collar
Now, let's go get the dog collar. To begin with, you need a chunk of flesh and a fire-based lethal.
Getting a chunk of flesh should be familiar to you anytime an overwhelming amount of damage is delivered onto the zombie it has a chance to explode instead of just die and anytime it explodes it has a chance to drop a chunk of Flesh shooting zombies in the low threat zone with high Rarity pack-a-punched weapon is a good way to form chunks of Flesh, explosive damage from rgl or sentus is another, you only need one this time as for a fire based lethal you need a Molotov cocktail or a thermite you can bring one with into the round or find one on the map.
It's up to you. It's on the way now. Find yourself a doghouse. Any dog house would do; it's probably best to do it in the low thread zone, but overall, it doesn't matter. It shouldn't be a shock that Hop G has a good map for the dog houses, too. Once you arrive at the dog house, place a chunk of flesh and the firebase lethal into it together, and the dog house will explode, revealing an unfriendly hellhound.
Heal it, and it drops a purple color. Now, before you proceed further, there are some steps that are highly advisable. If you really want your weapon to be at least purple rarity and punched up to level three, you'll also want to look for a turret circuit, as it might help immensely. And definitely have a spare self-reval too, just in case you can probably guess what happens next: an ether tear to teleport up the red tear in the sky, and as soon as you travel through it, you appear somewhere above the Red Zone with your purple color dropping down to reveal a new special hvg.
Contract. You need to go your way. This contract is always in the red zone and spawns three named HVT manglers and one regular. Check the map to see where they spawn and assess your chances in the fight. If odds are stacked against you, it might be better to back off and do another run, though you'll have to do the Dog House routine again.
