News - Warzone 2's Weapon Balance Is Still Awful. Wtf Are They Doing. Angry Rant

angry rant

Man i am absolutely livid making this article right now a couple months ago I made a article talking about how horrible the Modern Warfare 3 weapon balance was one of the worst aspects of the game was how bad the weapon balance was so many useless guns useless conversion kits and just balance decisions that make no sense whatsoever, well since that point we got the season 1 update in early December and the season 1 reloaded update just a couple days ago and I can confidently say that the weapon balance is still horse [ __ ], and I'm convinced the devs either have no idea what they're doing or AI is making these balance changes because some of them either don't do anything at all to the weapons Effectiveness, are so minute that it won't even make a difference if the weapon clearly needs a lot more done to it or are completely dumb like nerfing weapons that need Buffs instead and vice versa I'm not going to go over all of them, just the ones that I feel are super brain dead or that I have issues with here, so let's get started.

So the MCW got nerfed; they nerfed a couple of its attachments, and they increased the fire speed by 10%. Unfortunately, not quite enough because every lobster and every sweat is still holding on to this gun for deer. Life is by far the gun that I die the most to in multiplayer matches, so well done there.

That's a pointless change. I didn't do enough with that one. A lot of the MW2 assault rifles got buffed, which I have to say is very good, but for whatever reason, for the M16, they just decided to take out the back and curb stop the out of it, and they decreased three of its damage multipliers by 177%.

How many people were using the M16 exactly for this to be deemed acceptable, because I sure as hell didn't see anyone using the M16? It was already worse that the MW3 burst rifles, but now it's neutered even more, so this doesn't make any sense to me at all. If anything, it needs a buff to its damage considering the recoil it has, but okay, sure, it nerfed the M16.

atrocious

There were zero people using it before, and now there's going to be zero people using it. Moving on to battle rifles, the sidewinder got a reduction to its recoil and gun kick while firing. To be fair, that was the conversion kit for the side, not the base version, and don't worry, we will be talking more about this conversion kit later because my Is it bad?

Yeah, not enough of a change for anyone to even want to use the sidewinder. Then the mod Warfare 2 battle rifles got some buffs. Once again, no Nerfs here for the fact that none of them are still going to be as good as the mod Warfare 3 ones, especially the bass B, which saw no Nerfs here for SMGs.

The WSP Swarm saw its maximum damage range increase by 50% and its near-medium damage range increase by 50%. This is already the fastest-killing automatic weapon at close range. One of the best SMGs. Why did it get a buff instead of a nerf? I will never know, and you know, I don't even think it needed a Nerf, but it certainly didn't need a buff.

For shotguns, this is where they truly lost me. Shotguns are notorious. The Lockwood 680 can make a case for being decent, but it's still not great, so obviously there would have to be buffs here, right? The Lockwood 680, the only somewhat usable shotgun, was nerfed along with its sought-after stock mod in many different ways.

I don't know why you nerfed that when the dog [__] Riveter still stinks ass in the game that didn't get any buffs, so that's still going to be trash, but it gets even worse. In the lock with 300 slug ammunition, the minimum damage was nerfed from 75 to 57, and the dual trigger, which allows you to shoot both shots at the same time, got its damage range nerfed also, so essentially, what this did was make it so you can no longer oneshot people with the slugs paired with the dual trigger from longer ranges.

crossbow

Let's just say that it's so bad now that you can't even one-hot people with the Melstrom Dual trigger at close range. Look at this, I'm for. I'm like 4T from the guy, and I get a hit marker that's two slugs entering his body, and he survives. God forbid you use the already hard-to-use slug rounds to snipe people and get kills with them.

It's not like there are way better alternatives that are way easier to use: no, we have to target the slug rounds, which already sucked massive [__] to begin with, and just Nerf them even more into the ground. Both of the pump shotguns from MW2 were also buffed, but not in any meaningful ways; they are still just objectively worse than the Lockwood 680.

The Lockwood 680 one shot some further away has less recoil and way faster rechamber speed, so they're just worse in every aspect. The Xite 12 did get a slight range buff, which does make it a bit better. It might be usable now, but again, not enough. You're not going to see anyone using shotguns in this game outside of shipment or any other small map.

As a matter of fact, if you want to use a shotgun, just use a longbow, and then you're covered at close and far ranges. Look at how goofy the longbow is. You're telling me this can be one shot, but not a [__] dual slot on a shotgun. [__] stupid man Light machine guns got some mobility buffs. Nothing too crazy, though, marks rifles.

We have some more jokes here from Sledgehammer and the Lockwood Mark 2, a lever-action rifle. They decrease the aim-down sight time by 4% and decrease the hip fire spread while standing still. They decrease the hip fire spread while standing still. Come here, come here. I just wanted to ask you about Sledgehammer Games.

I just got to ask you: how in absolute [__] do you spawn with this weapon? Use it for a bit, and then decide if you know what this weapon needs. It needs its fire spread while standing, which has decreased. Yeah, you know what? That's the problem with a weapon that should be able to take one shot to the upper torso because of its fire rate.

ghilliemaster

Can't you change two meaningless stats but don't make it a one-shot? But the longbow sniper can shoot with a 30-round magazine? It makes no sense. Could someone tell me who is making these changes? And I just got to ask. What in the hell does that accomplish? The max health is 150; changing the damage from 100 to 125 does not accomplish that.

It doesn't do anything; it's still going to be a two-shot to the upper torso. This is not rocket science out here; just make the [__] a one-shot. How hard is it? And that's for the thermite bolts. They did make a bunch of changes, but ultimately, it still results in you having to stick someone, then wait 3 seconds from the burn to death, so you're going to wait before that happens unless it's at super long range and you can duck behind cover.
