News - The Warzone 2 New Years Update. First 2024 Content Drop
New aftermarket part weapons coming way
And the reward could be any one of these unreleased aftermarket parts. We have one for the AR9, which turns it into a double-barreled SMG; one for the Sidewinder, which turns into a fast-firing LMG; one for the Tier, which is the single-shot rifle; and one for the Hoger 556, which will turn it into a four-round burst assault rifle, so those could be tied to any one of the new sets of weekly challenges that come out; they could be tied to the classified battle pass sector, which opens up during reload, but we have stuff to look forward to, which is all progressing towards unlocking a free Universal camo that is going to release at the end of season 1.
Upcoming unreleased packs in early 2024
There's there are also a ton of unreleased bundles, which may be for reloading or after, but I do believe these are the bundles that are going to release before reloading. Typically, when bundles leak out, they're for a certain period of time, not any point after that, so we'll be seeing a separate batch of bundles added in with the season one reloaded patch, which is going to be out for a couple of weeks, and we know that the Vortex Ultra Horseman skin is probably going to release in the next few days with that event once the LTM does release inside of multiplayer, but there's other bundles, like, you know.
Dark Rituals 4 Metamere, and we got some other Tracer blueprints. There are some pretty cool packs for those out there that do care about cosmetics, but one thing I wanted to bring up, which I hope will get addressed in early 2024 or beyond, is the weird pricing changes with a lot of these bundles now.
Free bundle giveaway for mw3 before jan 1st
Pacific for those out there that are watching this article that for whatever reason you don't own Modern Warfare 3 yet, if you go ahead and buy it before New Year's, you get a free bundle, which is the same holiday one that was released last year for Modern Warfare 2. I'm also.
Big sbmm reveal from call of duty soon␦
What I'm really looking forward to talking about again is skill-based matchmaking.
If you're like, Wait, why is that? Well, it's confirmed by Sledgehammer that in early 2024. We're going to be getting another statement from the studio or all studios talking about how matchmaking really works inside of Call of Duty multiplayer, and Deton was provided a statement about this topic a couple of weeks ago, prior to the launch of season 1, in which they confirmed in the statement that it's a pretty complex conversation to have; it's something that isn't as black and white as people might think and consists of a number of different factors, and I'm excited for them to elaborate more on this either in a separate blog post or in a series of tweets.
It's unclear how they're going to address it, but it is confirmed to be releasing shortly after season 1, and again, this statement we got was on November 30th, so I guess this means right when they get back to the office in the next couple of days or a week, the PRI will start working on how they're going to address this, and it'll probably release at some point in early to mid-January, but there you have it for those out there that want to know more about how skill-based matchmaking truly works in Call of Duty.
Experimental playlist returning in 2024!
Now the last thing I'll mention is the return of the experimental playlist. This is something that probably won't be featured every week or, hell, even every month, but it's something that we're going to be seeing somewhat frequently, maybe once a season, where they're working on something, quote, unquote, experimental for the multiplayer.
Which you can get your hands on and a taste of inside of this dedicated playlist we first saw this added in Vanguard which to me was brilliant and I'm happy that we got to see it at least once in Modern Warfare 3 thus far with those player outlines, they're going to be tweaking even more as we got confirmed on a recent season 1 creater call they're going to be tweaking even more and playing around with different ideas throughout 2024, in which they'll incorporate things like that into an experimental playlist then based on whether or not that was popular or well received they'll go ahe and make a decision on incorporating whatever that feature was permanently in the entire game or at least giving us a feature in the settings to toggle it on or off so be expecting the return of that experimental playlist, probably in season 2 but hey for early 2024, wouldn't mind seeing it one more time before the end of the very first season but that about it this has been DK Dynamite.
