News - Reacting To The Entire History Of Warzone Meta (2020-2024)
Starting with the launch of the game, for the first couple of months of the game, we had the M4, the HDR, the Ax50 with thermal, and the Growl 556. RPG, kar98 mp5, pretty sure I've said a million times on the channel, but when I think of the pandemic. I immediately think of War Zone, but more specifically, in this state of the game, the M4 was a very dependable and forgiving gun that anyone could use and to this day remains a viable choice.
You had a few different choices for snipers, which we haven't seen in War Zone since mine, and just about everyone's favorite was the Kar98k. It was super quick, had a little bullet drop off, and one shot to the head. If tactical long-range sniping was more your thing, you could use the HDR or Ax50.
With a thermal sight that just seemed to be a laser at launch, the body damage was insane, which allowed you to one-shot players here who weren't even fully plated without a head shot. Then there was the growl. I think everyone can agree that this was everyone's favorite meta-AR throw on the Archangel Barrel.
You have this beautiful iron sight that allowed you to forego any optics, enabling you to kit this out to be an absolute laser, not to mention it's still pretty damn good today. I've seen people make articles about using this in War Zone Pacific and still dominating. There's even a couple of weirdos who would run a double growl class where they would have the one long range kid it out but for your other one you turn into a Nutty SMG that somehow also worked, however if you weren't an absolute psychopath you would pair this with the MP5 which would also be a viable option for the rest of this game's life cycle but if you're a no good piece of [ __ ] like me you paired this with an RPG, that made for a great close-range, substitute because the one shot radius on this thing was broken not to mention the construction was awesome a quick honorable mention goes out to The Snake shots although they were very broken and possibly the most broken version of a shotgun war zone has ever seen they weren't near as viable because this is before rebirth island or Resurgence, in general had been released and ver Dan being a long range map it wasn't near as common that you were super close like that in this state of the game.
A couple of years later. I don't know. I don't know. That's my fault. Nerfs and patches later, and that brings you to The Meta, just before the Cold War integration, where we saw guns such as the Origin 12 shotgun, the R9 shotgun, the AS Val, and the M13. The kilo 141, and most notably the Brewin LMG, have not much to say about the shotguns other than that they were pretty broken with the dragons breath rounds, and honestly, it was just not fun to play against the AS Val, who had this bug with this bullet penetration that allowed you to shoot through the entire map, and that is not an exaggeration.
I remember that [__] was op. But even after they fixed the bullet penetration, it was still a really good gun. It was honestly perfect to run with a sniper, specifically the Kar98k, because it acted like a SMG AR hybrid thing. Now I want to go ahead and lump the kilo and the M13 together because they acted very similar to me; they were both very accurate but didn't deal the most damage, so you really had to hit your shot.
A nice feature about the kilo is that if you were an absolute sick bastard, you could throw on the monkey nuts on this John and treat it pretty much just like an LMG, but throughout all this chaos,. Motivated, what nuts i don't know. During this state of the game, the absolute most broken gun at the time was the Brewin.
This was another one of those can't beat him, join him situations since this gun was leaps and bounds ahead of everything else at the time. Nerfs eventually made this thing unusable, which I think everyone was happy with. Now we have the Cold War integration era, which is also about the same time when Rebirth Island got introduced, which not only changed how the game was played but obviously added way too many weapons into the mix.
However, right after Cold War came out, the dominant ones were the FF, the akimbo DMI, the Mac 10, and most notably the DMR. Aside from the FF, this may have been my least favorite state of the game. For starters, the Mac 10 combo was pretty insane, but what do you think? The swarm, like recently, was really good too.
Making all the Cold War guns meta is a shameless attempt to get people to buy the game, but aside from that, the DMR Mac 10 combo was ridiculous. DMR could shoot as fast as you could finger blast the trigger, and the Mac 10 had no recoil, a lot of damage, and a massive magazine. There was absolutely no reason not to use this SMG.
However, if the Mac 10 didn't do it for you, you still had the Aikimbo Dimodi, which was a three-round burst killing machine. Insane accuracy, a decent mag size, and crazy damage made this thing very unfun to play against. However, there was a little glimpse of light during this dark meta with the FF AR.
This Famas-like AR was a laser that was also really good at close range and was a perfect gun—my favorite gun of all time. My favorite gun of all time is the FF. Run with the Sniper also has a universally loved iron sight. This was another fan favorite gun, I think. Now that Cold War has been out for a couple months, a new update to Modern Warfare 2019 would bring in a brand new gun known as the Aax.
This dominated this state of the game, but there were still other viable options, such as the Far, which even had a short period of time where we saw a burst meta with the Cold War M16 and the AUG, and, to round things off, another broken pistol, which you pretty much use as an SMG because of its insane movement in an 80-round drum magazine known as the Pyop.
Not the worst meta since the aax was very good but actually required some recoil control by the player, which made it a high-risk, high-reward gun, and although the burst meta was broken and extremely annoying, it didn't last long since I got hit with Nerfs pretty fast. Now we're at the time frame of about late spring 2021 for the release of Vanguard, and here's where things get out of control.
