News - Huge Update: Weapon Case, Servers Down, Ricochet Online & No Ashika (warzone Season 2 Reloaded Prep)
Servers are down for everyone.
Servers are down across about every single game mode inside of Modern Warfare 3, and I believe even Modern Warfare 2, so people out there are reporting that their ranks have been reset. Classes aren't working correctly, weapon levels aren't tracking, store bundles aren't appearing, lots of issues across the board for just about every single game mode.
Obviously, in the next couple of hours, I mean before the end of the week or before the end of this Friday, I should say things should be fixed. There's no way we go the entire weekend with issues like this for those that are frustrated. Look, I get it, but let's just hope that by the time kids get off school today or people get off of work at around, you know, 3:00, 400, or 5:00 p.
M these issues do in fact get resolved; it's not too often when Cod breaks to this level of severity, so hopefully it's something that we'd never see ever again. I just don't even know what could have caused it, but as a brief reminder, yesterday there was a really weird outage, I think nationwide, for just about every sale of your service.
So it's probably not related, but I just want to point out that it's been a pretty rough week for technology. Just to go ahead and point that out, let's start off with our new playlist update for War Zone, which got confirmed as of.
New playlists for wz before s2 reloaded
Yesterday, this applied from February 22nd until the 29th. We have ranked play Resurgence trios, Battle Royale solos, trios, and quads for Ukhan. We then have mini Royale Duos on Ukhan, followed by the return of the Battle Royale preview, which we're going to talk about a little bit more in a second.
That is for quads on Ekhan. We then have a revival for Fortun, keeping with all squad sizes with the return of V quads. Resurgence, and lastly, plunder quads Ekhan is currently live and, for some reason, has replaced lockdown in Vondal. It'll probably bring that back relatively soon, but then for February 29th through March 7th, we once again have rank-play Resurgence trios, Battle Royale solos, trios, and quads.
Ekan, they're keeping mini Royale Duos for ukhan, and Battle Royale preview will also remain for quads. We then have all squad sizes for Fortunes Keep, with a rotation between Fortunes Keep and Vond. Noah Island, we'll get back to that in a second, and then lock down quads for Vondo, who will also be making its way back in.

Weapon case mode & zombie powerups
Now I first want to mention Battle Royale Preview, which is the mode that does contain the weapon case and Cobra Xville features. It's unclear if these features will ever make their way into regular Battle Royale for Ukhan or if they will incorporate them onto, let's say, a Resurgence map like fortunes keep or eventually rebirth.
I actually really had a good time covering the Battle Royale Preview mode, which I think was two weeks ago, and I believe the rewards are still the same if you go and get the weapon case right now, so take advantage of that while you can. But Raven did put out a bit of a lengthy post talking about their explanation.
Hey, we've seen some positive reception to powerups over enforcers. Keep wondering how you feel about seeing them in Ukraine. And I don't believe the poll worked in their favor; they would have hoped to probably add it to battle royale ukhan, but like the joke currently goes, war zone players sometimes just don't really like fun; they don't want to see anything other than strict battle royale or strict resurgence.
So they're not going to add zombie powerups to the regular BR, but at least for this preview mode, they're just going to add them in for fun for those who just want something extra to grind with and something extra to grind for when they loot up some chests.
Mimic skulls now spawning in warzone
Now, for those that are wondering if they can go ahead and grind mimic skulls in War Zone as of yesterday's update, you actually can, so for whatever reason, mimics still don't spawn in the eradication and contracts in Fortune's Keep, but maybe that gets fixed before the start of this weekend.
I'll keep you guys posted. However, you could loot those mimic skulls out of the chests you can find around various environments. Apparently, they're also coming out of some of the chests you see in Urzikstan. I can't really confirm that for myself; I've only been playing Fortune Keep, but as they ended off their statement with the current playlist, creation isn't an exact science.
As a team, we review a wealth of internal data alongside social sentiment and engagement to make decisions. Our goal is to always appeal to the widest group of players possible across the entire season so that there is something for everybody to play, so I think there's always going to be a group of people that are frustrated with the playlist options.
Each and every week, that's just how it goes for multiplayer as well, but you guys probably noticed that Asika Island wasn't mentioned in either of the playlist rotations that we went over, so is this a sign that Asika isn't going to come back?.
Ashika island not returning??
Well, I think if anything, there's a chance it comes back after the launcher reloads, which is March 6th.
So maybe we'll still see it added back, and they'll have this rotation between Vondo Asika and Fortunes, probably not the Ukhan Pois. But with Rebirth R for season 3, I just can't picture them having a rotation between four maps, or even more than that, I can't see them saying hey this week. There's only going to be trios for this map and duos for this one.
I think a good sweet spot is having two maps in rotation. I really wonder why I don't really have a problem with Ashika as a Resurgence experience. Maybe they could change the time of day or the weather, but if anything, it's also possible that what they start doing is for the most part keeping the new map, which in this case Fortune's keeps keeping that new map in rotation, with a lot of different options and multiple squad sizes, but then rotating Aika.

Cheaters just took over but why
Let's talk about Ricochet real quickly, because there was an influx of cheating that I think we all saw posted on Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube over the last couple of days. It almost felt like Ricochet was offline, and that rumor quickly spread throughout the entire Cod community. It was then debunked in the recent patch notes, and here's the thing, right?
