In today's article, I'm going to be showing you how to download and play Warzone 2.0 on PC. This article will cover how to download and install it on PC on both launchers, so for Steam as well as Battlenet. Well, this article will also show you how to play Warzone 2.0 if you've already purchased Modern Warfare 2, but also if you have not, because the process is a little different and a little confusing this time around, so that's why we're going to cover all of it extensively in this article.

So first up, let's start out with Battlenet. Of course, if you want to play Warzone 2.0 on Battlenet, you're going to need to install Bottleneck; if you don't already have the launcher installed on your PC, you can literally just Google Battlenet. Sign up for an account, download the launcher, have it all installed on your PC, and then open it, sign into your account, and then from there once you're in Battlenet you can either click on shop; it might show up here at the top in the little bar up top here, or you can click on shop and find Modern Warfare 2 in there so the icon has changed so it'll say Modern Warfare 2 and underneath it'll say Does Warzone 2.0?, click on that, and then down on the bottom left it'll say Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Warzone 2.0, and you can click Install.

Warzone 2.0 is free. Modern Warfare 2 is not something you have to pay for. So even though it will allow you to download the campaign in multiplayer and co-op, you cannot play those unless you pay the seventy dollars for them. Warzone 2.0 is the only section of the game that is free, so, of course, if you know you have not purchased it, there's no sense in downloading those other sections of the game.

There's also no sense in downloading Modern Warfare 2. And so that is how you download it if you have not purchased Modern Warfare 2 or don't have it installed on your system. It's super simple and easy now. If you have Modern Warfare 2 and now you're looking to play Warzone 2.0, okay, how do you do that?

If you're watching this article at a later date, chances are your game is already updated, and you can literally just go over and switch modes and play Warzone 2.0. You can just go to the main menu of the game and click on "Warzone 2," and it will just launch and you'll be able to play it. Currently, for Modern Warfare 2 owners, there is an update that is needed in order to play Warzone 2.0, so it is important that you do have that Warzone 2.0 pack installed.

I showed you guys what during the installation process is, that you need to have installed during the installation process. If you don't have that package installed, launching Warzone 2.0 will require you to download it, but even if you do not have that downloaded, if you do not have the newest update for the game, you will not be able to play Warzone 2.0, so make sure that you download the latest update.

The way you can do this is by clicking in the bottom left here next to "Play." You can click on this little cog or this little gear and then click on that and then click "check for updates," or your system might automatically check for updates and you should download them. latest update, for Modern Warfare 2, and, once you download this latest update for Modern Warfare 2, this whole season one update, it will include Warzone 2.0, and you'll be able to jump in and start playing it, so make sure that your game is updated all the way as well as that you have that Warzone 2.0 pack, and you'll be able to play it so long as you own Modern Warfare 2.

So that's how you do it on Battlement, so it's a little complicated and a little bit different if you have purchased the game if you purchase Modern Warfare 2 versus if you have not purchased any of it and you only want to play Warzone and you know you haven't purchased anything. So on Steam, if you want to play Warzone 2.0, you're going to want to launch it and go to the store page, where you'll find the Modern Warfare 2 store page.

So you're not going to be able to find this by just searching for "Warzone 2.0," look up "Modern Warfare 2," and once you get here to the store page, you will. See in here where it says, "Buy Modern Warfare 2 for $70." "The Vaults Edition" has "cod points yada yada," you know, and it doesn't say anything here about Warzone 2.0.

You do not have to buy anything to play Warzone 2.0. War Zone 2.0 is completely free; do not be fooled; you don't have to buy Modern Warfare 2 in order to play this, so then go ahead and just click the "click here" option, and that will also take you through the installation process, and you'll be able to download it, so I made a article on how to preload it.

It's the exact same thing here. You can literally just click on that to take you through the installation process, and it will start downloading Warzone 2.0 and all the required files, so you don't need to do anything different. It's definitely a lot easier here than, say, the internet. If you're watching this article later, there is no need because your game should already be updated and included.

Warzone 2.0 is available, but make sure that your game is updated. Right here, it says I have a 15.85-gigabyte update, and I'm just going to go ahead and click Update, and of course I just have to wait for the entire download to finish. Once it is finished, the game is updated and ready to go, and I can jump in and play Warzone 2.0.

This is for people who currently play Modern Warfare 2. So it's a little different here; it's a little tricky, just like overall. Just remember that you do not need to purchase Modern Warfare 2. I know that a lot of people have been confused about this last time with Modern Warfare 2019 in the War Zone.
