News - Everything You Need To Know For The Warzone 2 Vortex Event (modes, Maps, Camoes & More)
Welcome back to Call of Duty Weekly News Updates. In this one, we're going to go over and talk about the brand new Vortex War domain event, which is a limited-time event taking place this Wednesday. January 3rd, which will bring in 15 different free rewards and cosmetics, including a magma animated weapon camo, a brand new mode that brings the ray gun to multiplayer, and three different new map variations.
And a brand new store update bringing in some Ultra Skin Operator bundles currently has the holiday event in its last and final days. Once this event comes to an end, it's going to be replaced with this brand new Vortex LTM, so that means the ship Miss Hangover sent to Sligh Ground is going to be removed from the playlist, and they will add a Vortex one instead.
This will be a free-for-all mode where one player in the lobby will spawn in with a ray gun. This is a very overpowered ray gun that will have a one-shot capability for any player from any range, and if you don't have it and you want it for yourself, you can eliminate the player who's currently using it, and that will automatically give it to you.
So the best way to continuously keep this ray gun in your inventory is to just not get eliminated. The good news is that this is not the only new feature in this brand new mode; there's actually going to be three brand new map variations. The first one is going to be rust getting changed to be called tetanus, and this is what the new variant of this map will look like.
As the description says in this Otherworld version of rust operators finding themselves in an otherworldly desert during a planetary storm, strips of neon green light are attached to the infrastructure to enhance the S feel of the fight, and these are the different angles that they ended up showcasing.
In the photo, the second map is going to be called Satan's Quarry; it says to enter this pit of fire and brimstone only if you dare. A huge change piercing the skies signals a hellish destination, in which only the Bold stand a chance of survival, and the map is surrounded by magma fire, Lava dropping everywhere.
I don't think it'll damage players or cause any damage when you're actually playing it itself; it's just like a visual thing. The third map is going to be Spore Yard; it says the iconic Boneyard shows signs of fungal infestation as glowing blue Flora spreads throughout the map, dispensed by the towering toad stool surrounding the borders, and these are the different angles of the scrapyard that they showcase.
It's at a different time of the day today, and the sky looks completely different, with a lot of glow-in-the-dark colors. The majority of it is blue anyway. These maps are only remixed for this brand new mode, so that means they're only going to be available in this Vortex playlist. You won't be able to use them or play them in the standard ones with the amount of effort that it seems like they put into these maps.
Hopefully they're not only available for this Vortex LTM event, but they may be introduced and added back in the future, because it would just be a shame to get to play these for only 2 weeks before they're permanently gone. Alongside the brand new mode and the maps, there's also going to be an event that will be taking place over in the event tab.
I went ahead and made this concept based on what I think it will look like in the blog where they mentioned entering the flames of the vortex to fight for cataclysmic. Rewards in this event players will progress through the 15 available rewards, by playing in The Vortex themed Maps tetanus Satan's Quarry and spard meaning that the only way you'll be able to get any of these rewards are through the vortex LTM and you will need to participate and play in them as of right now no challenges for them have been leaked so it's going to be one of those events that's probably going to be XP based so depending on how much xp you gain in that mode that's how you're going to get rewards For example, we saw that 5, 000 XP would get you one reward, 10, 000 would get you the next, and so on.
It's probably going to be somewhat similar here, so the more you play it, the more rewards you'll be able to earn. If that is the case, it seems like the War Zone players are not going to be able to participate in this event because it will be multiplayer and exclusive. In terms of the rewards that you'll be able to get from this, we only know of a couple.
First off, there's going to be the double XP tokens, battle pass XP tokens, and double weapon XP tokens. There was this fist of Fire Emblem that was revealed that will potentially be a reward as well, and finally, the master reward for this event, according to leakers, is going to be this animated.
Magma Camo, which looks something like this, would, I do believe, make sense as a fitting reward. We saw that with the majority of these events, there's always some sort of camo, which is the final mass you reward. By completing the entire event, you should be able to get this magma camo. Another thing you can expect from this event is going to be the massive store update that we will be receiving.
It is speculated that the ultra-skin known as the Horsemen Bundle will be the one hitting the shop. This will be the main character or operator skin in this event, meaning that if you purchase this operator bundle and equip it, you'll get an XP boost that will help you complete the event a little bit faster.
But here's what this brand new bundle is: You have the warhorse, which is going to be an operator skin for Swagger. And because this is an ultra-skin bundle, the operator is going to be fully animated with these dark red flames. The pack will include one brand new weapon blueprint, which will be for the bass B called the Demonic Call.
It has a blood fire trap around as well as a death effect called the blood fire dismemberment, which looks a little something like this. The rest of the bundle will include things like an emblem, an animated calling card, a weapon charm, a large decal, and a loading screen. You can expect that this bundle will be added to the store this coming Wednesday, along with the Vortex LTM event, but this is everything that you need to know about this brand new event taking place before we get into the season 1 reloaded update.
With that update, we're going to be getting the brand new boys event, which will bring in two brand new operators, the first one being for a train and the second one being for a firecracker. We also got the return of the souped-up mode, which I believe is going to be available in the war zone. Apparently, there's also going to be a multiplayer variant of that added as well.
