News - Early Look: The Future Of Warzone 2 Zombies. Season 3 Content Preview
If season 3 does launch on April 3rd, which is a Wednesday, we should be seeing season 3 Reloaded by the very end of April or the first week of May, which is still quite some time away, so overall, it's good to know that we're at least going to be seeing content updates, maybe every midseason update instead of the beginning of a season, but the way I would do it is maybe launch a new season with quality of life updates, new features, and system upgrades.
You know, pacing improvements, and then, with the mid-season updates right reloaded, you drop in the new act Mission, the new dark ether Rift, and the new schematics.
This announcement is concerning for mwz
That would be a better way to handle zombies, in my opinion, for at least the rest of the year to give zombies something until we get a full-fledged zombie experience with Trey's new Black Ops game, but as we heard officially from Treyarch in the recent season 2 Creator call, we're not going to be seeing any new perks, new enemies, or any type of stash increase, at least right now, because they're still quote-unquote investigating, which I'm a little confused about.
I think things could change. Let's see what High Moon or Infinity War have up their sleeves, but it looks like we might just be getting a very simple content, pattern every mid-season update, which is a new act mission that brings us to a new dark ether Rift, which is another portion of Al Mazra, then we have to go back to ö stand and do a fetch quest to help us get back into that Rift outside of the ACT Mission, then when in that Rift you can do new contracts to unlock some brand new schematics.
I mean, we could also see red worm-equivalent Easter eggs added to zakhan as well; that's also possible, but sadly.
No support for rebirth or fortunes keep
It doesn't look like we're going to get any type of zombie support for Fortun's Keep or Rebirth Island, which to me is a massive missed opportunity. If we had just seen support for MWZ, the same way we did see support for DMZ for the first couple of seasons.
I think we would have been in a much different position right now in terms of zombie momentum, but it's like I also mentioned on the podcast with Fardi recently.
Onslaught already exists in mw3.?
I mean, look at the Hord Hunter mode from multiplayer. You're practically playing Onslaught, just in MP. I mean, the onslaught accelerated, for example, on LTM, as we saw in the Cold War. I mean, it's like the Hord Hunt experience. It gives us the ingredients and the recipe for what an onslaught could be like, so it's surprising that we don't have that in actual zombies.
I mean, to me, that would have also been another way to say it. Yeah, a game doesn't have to have classic round-based zombies with Easter eggs to still be Call of Duty zombies: you can have your open world extraction outbreak type mode; you can then have your barebones zombie killing surge type of mode like Onslaught; you can have those two experiences without a classic round-based mode, and Call of Duty fans will still be happy with that, so it's odd to see that MWZ didn't get that to at least hold us off until.
We get actual new content inside of MWZ, like dark ether raids, new act missions, and new upgrades. Until then, we could have at least gotten a basic zombie killing type LTM or mode alongside Ersan, so you can keep grinding your camos and doing whatever else you want, killing basic zombies without having to go into Ukraine to risk your loot or whatnot.
Pvp, new strike team slots & more
I know we have a rumor about a possible PVP experience. I actually want to see that because that's still new content. I'm down for it, not saying it's going to replace the current mode that we have, but at this point I got to just take anything, just another reason to hop on to zombies, whether it's for an LTM or an upgrade system.
I want to hop on and do something new, but with that as well, you guys have probably noticed that new Strike Team slots did get added as of recently through some various bundles that got added in, and it's like I mentioned before, another flaw with MW3, right now, is that a lot of the bundles just aren't worth the full 2400.
Cod Point Price I mean, you can argue that bundles should never be that expensive, but from what we're accustomed to from previous years (2400). Cod Point bundles would come with reactive skins or really cool-looking operator skins. Plus Tracer Blueprints and other really cool themed cosmetics, but a lot of the bundles in MW3 have been lacking thus far, so it's really silly to see what's been going on, and I just hope we get a massive turnaround with season 3 or Beyond, which is going to be next month, but that is about it.
Closing statements
I'll probably be called a shell for making this article, but hey, there's other content on the way that people out there aren't really talking about all that much. I'm upset about the way zombies have been handled. There's so many cool things that could be done with the mode a lot of potential, and I really do believe that we'll still have a decent end of the year with this mode, but obviously with Black Ops 2024.
I really hope you've enjoyed it. Peace
