News - The Secret Rooms Dmz And How To Unlock Them. Fast & Easy Key Locations - Warzone 2 Season 1
Find everything you need on dmz!
I posted several recent articles talking all about different quests here in the DMZ. The first one I made was in regards to the chemist quest, in which you can then unlock the base M13 assault rifle, which is a brand new weapon here in season one. I even posted a follow-up short to that talking about how you can even bypass that quest to instantly unlock the M13 without even killing the chemist.
I also made a article talking about the weapon case quest here on the map, which allows you to unlock up to seven different rewards, which will include an OP blueprint and even a really cool operator skin, which happens to be the chemist from the other quest here in the MZ. But there's still plenty more to dissect here in Modern Warfare 2's free-to-play extraction mode, so let's jump right into things.
What are keys & how to find them
So In the DMZ, there are tons—and I mean tons—of keys that you can find laying around our madras with which to open up a variety of different things, such as lock boxes and suitcases. Doors and even denied area keys are found in random loot chests or can be stolen off of enemy bodies if you happen to kill them.
You can also get some keys from completing faction missions, as you'll see when I tell you I got one for completing the big spender mission on tier 2 for Legion, and you'll see the key get unlocked right when I X out after completing that mission. Go back to the menu, and the key will be available right there for you.
So what's important to remember now is that keys have a limited number of uses. Some say you can only use them once, others twice, and some up to three times. They're all different, and it varies from key to key. When you pick up keys and Expo with them, they'll be stored in your backpack so you can spawn right back in with them during your next match, but you don't need to do that, and I'd highly recommend unequipping.
Stash your keys & don␙t equip them all
If that's the case, I think it's best to save keys for a specific purpose, as we'll talk later about deeper in this article.
Secret rooms & how to find where keys go
Definitely don't go anywhere or use timestamps to skip around to the topics you want to hear more about, so when you're a key , it'll often have a name that won't make sense to you right away unless you're really familiar with all the points of interest here in Almazara. You could have, for instance, the Tavern Boat Dock Shack key, which is a preferred back room; the South Guard Shack; or even the Police Academy key.
Now sometimes you'll get a key that has a coordinate that says question mark then a number instead of a letter and a number, and what that usually means is that the name of the point of interest is a strong enough hint as to where to go. In that case, it's easier to know where you have to go, whereas with other keys, they just give you a hint as to what kind of object you're looking for, whether it's a door or a loot chest.
That's when it gives you the clear coordinates of where you have to go on the map to possibly find that. Hopefully, that makes sense in terms of the hint that the key actually gives.
Finding the correct secret doors & key rng
You now, let's start off with the basic doors that these keys could open. You can't really miss these doors since X marks the spot, right? You'll see these doors that just stick out, and obviously, upon going up to them, you'll be prompted to interact with the door to use the key that's in your inventory, and if the key matches, the door will open.
So these doors tend to look the same all around Almazara, which is a really good indication that if you walk up to one of these, you'll just know that you need a key to actually open up that door, and I know the doors could slightly vary from time to time, but again, you'll always get a prompt when walking up to these that a key is required or that the door itself is locked and you won't be able to go in unless you have the right key, but obviously with the keys it's practically RNG.
This is an open-world sandbox experience. There's never a guarantee that you'll be able to go into a game of Almazra and find specific keys for specific areas every time. That's just not how it works unless you do a faction mission that will guarantee you a specific key. Then you'll know you'll be able to access a certain area at some point if you manage to bring the key to the right location now.
Hidden toolboxes underwater & other key uses
Here's another really cool example of what a key could actually open, and that's a toolbox, but as this one says, this is the quarry workers' lost toolbox. And if you look at the hint on the map, it will bring you to this general area, which is in Quarry; but if you're like, "Wait, what would a lost toolbox look like?" shout out to Light himself.
Ajardi, who got the great idea to just check the water there. There are very few underwater sections here in Quarry, so this particular little pond stood out, and all of a sudden we went into the water, and, what do you know, the toolbox was just sitting there right at the bottom. If you have a key to open them, we'll just end up giving you another key for a better area that'll have actual loot.
That could be how it works, but I know I opened up this exact same toolbox a couple of games later yet again because I found another key for it, and it gave me yet another key for a different area here on Almazura. That's also not to say that all toolboxes have to be underwater, but if it does say "lost toolbox," look in an area that isn't just sitting on a shelf or is it sitting in an area where typical loot boxes would be; look for an area that would be considered lost from that point of view.
Hidden luggages & chests that keys can open
Interesting, we then have this bag over in the terminal, so this is another area that I feel like could be very confusing, because if you're looking for a lost luggage of sorts, you're like, "Wait, there's a hundred luggages all over this area." But, looking at the coordinate hint that we got from the key, we're able to pinpoint exactly where this could have been in the terminal walk.
Up to this bag. I inserted the key, and boom, there was some decent loot just sitting right here in the luggage, and I wouldn't get my hopes up too much for decent loot when you're using a key on like a toolbox, a bag, or even a small chest. Expect the best loot when you open up an actual door, as I showed you footage of a couple of minutes ago, but still, it's great to show you guys different examples of where these keys can go.
